Gender Question

Has there ever been a time in your life where, after interacting with a certain type of person, you just want to throw your hands into the air and scream? Does the inability to relate frustrate you? If so, you're not alone. The "gender divide" has been confounding people for millenia, and, as yet, there is no definitive answer as to how to solve it! Everyone in history has, at one time or another, been frustrated in their attempts to commuicate with others of the opposing sex. Even though we're designed to be social creatures, this "gap" is a major "hang up" in our attempts to get along with others, and it gets better - there is no concievable end in sight! There are going to be both men and women on this planet forever, even after the Lord comes again.
Keeping that in mind, there are questions every guy wants to have answered... For one, we wonder why girls are so danged complicated!? It's SO much easier to be simpler, and to just "let things flow!" So then, my question is: why are girls so high strung? They take everything so seriously and so literally, and this really complicates things in any relationship. Anything a guy says is analyzed and cross-analyzed for meaning, even if it's just a simple comment! And furthermore, this happens not only in relation to guys, but to other girls as well. They're constantly trying to figure out "what was meant" by this comment or that comment, and even simple compliments are put "under the knife", so to speak. Why then?

  1. Careful of being judgmental Derek-- there's a little bit of mud-slinging here, when what you've identified is simply a different way of thinking. Try to phrase your question in a way that gets at the CONFUSION, not BLAME.

It seems like your question is, essentially, why do girls analyze things that guys perceive as to be straight-forward?
    Is that it?

  2. I sense an overall theme of complication. While I disagree with this stereotype, I know where you're coming from. I like to think that girls enjoy drama. Even if they talk about how much they HATE drama, they are causing it by saying the word "HATE" in all caps, even though you can't really speak in all caps. Anyway, maybe I should rephrase my attempt in order not to offend. Women like to not be bored with life. While men seek simplicity in detail, women tend to seek out more detail than there actually is, while men smear the entire page of details together to make a very simple, but inaccurate painting of a worldview.

  4. I think girls could ask the same about guys...why are they so simple? Hence the problem. Guys have such a hard time relating to girls and vise versa. Personally, I don't have a clear explanation as to why we analyze things to death, but I think it's just due to the way our minds work. I wouldn't necessarily say that it's because we like drama, it's more that we don't ever feel secure in what's said. Will said it nicely: "While men seek simplicity in detail, women tend to seek out more detail than there actually is".

  5. Format is a little off Derek... You start off your topic so broadly that you then aren't able to focus in on one specific research question. Also, I don't see the clear two paragraphs here. Make sure you clearly delineate the summary of your issue in your first paragraph, and then transition into the second one where you state a clear, researchable question.
